Adrienne and Derrick

08.17.10

Adrienne and Derrick's wedding was something that will not soon be forgotten. It was beyond gorgeous. It was really nice to shoot their rehearsal dinner and get to know a few people before the wedding. Here are a few of my favorite shots from that night.

The rustic decor was all over the place! I loved it.

The guests.

The groomsmen got the perfect wedding gift. A mug full of beer!

The ladies were reading personalized letters when they received their gifts.

She was not impressed when I caught her reading her letter. =)

Her sister made it through her note with just one tear!

The bride practiced their dance for the big day.

Adrienne got a little teary eyed when her and Derrick thanked everyone for being there.

Her and her sister showed signs of a crazy party ahead!

The full wedding and a very cool Trash The Dress session will be posted soon. Can't wait to share it!

Melissa and Jesse

08.26.10

I had a blast in NYC shooting Melissa and Jesse's engagement session. Their wedding in Michigan was a blast too!

We started things off at the church on a very warm July day!

The ladies were ready to go when they arrived and just had some last minute touch ups to tend to!

I love this shot of her before she made her way down the aisle.

Jesse gets a hug from the best man and the big show starts!

The church was beautiful!

Someone partied hard the night before. =)

Making it official.

Puppy stop!

The cork was MIA.

We jump on the trolley and head to our first stop.

I photographed Amy and David's wedding where Jesse was a groomsmen. It was nice hanging out with familiar faces all day!

A parking garage will always get my attention!

Jesse.

Melissa.

And Melissa again! She was looking gorgeous!!

Some Michigan graffiti!

We stopped for a shake to cool off.

Back on the trolley with the wild wedding party.

Some trolley dancin'.

This guy got his dance on too!

He danced his way over to the wedding party. So glad he did!

The Birmingham gave Melissa and Jesse a big shout out!

We had to shoot around this car that wouldn't move. Lame.

Jesse pulls a "runaway groom".

A final shot of Melissa and we head to the reception.

We were all treated to a live musical performance.

We made it to the Bloomfield Hills Country Club and decided to do a few quick photos before heading in for some cocktails.

Love this one!

The girls make fun of the guys as they do the cheesy wedding pose.

A high five from the guys and the wedding party heads inside for the party.

A few more shots of the couple.

Cocktails!

Another wedding. Another middle finger.

A sweet introduction.

Some speeches.

I really love this shot of Melissa!

My favorite shot from their first dance.

Melissa and her father.

And the dancing begins!

Jesse's Girl got the audience going crazy. I loved it!

Jesse's father and sister.

Watch out!

Refill!

The party was so insane the chandelier broke!

They treated the guests to milk and cookies on the way out.

They kept the rings.

Shannon and Peter

08.19.10

I met Shannon at a wedding last fall. She is an awesome wedding planner in Chicago. We had so much fun at Heather and Andrew's wedding that she asked me to photograph her big day. So glad she did!

I met up with her at the Sofitel for some getting ready shots. You could see her dress hanging in the window outside of Peter's room!

When I got to her room she was reading a letter given to her by Peter.

The girls were getting ready for the waterworks!

She didn't need a tissue. She was all smiles!

Braxton got a few shots of the guys getting ready. This usually takes about 2 minutes. =)

Guys getting ready means that beer is right around the corner...

I really love this shot of her putting her veil on and getting attacked by hairspray!

She looked amazing.

Braxton got a few shots of Peter hanging out at the MCA before their first encounter of the day!

Here she comes!

We were lucky enough to walk around the galleries that were full of color!

Mean. Just mean!

The wedding party met up with us on the steps of the museum.

I stole a shot while Ben Mahoney was doing his thang!

Loving the socks!

We were off to the bridge. I am sure you can guess which one! =)

This bridge is so great for big wedding parties.

Peter's brother directed the guys to dance for the camera.

Shannon looking fabulous.

And more fabulous.

Peter was watching his bride and getting his pose on at the same time!

One last pose and it was time for the ceremony.

The girls tried to hide the bride as we made our way into the church.

Hanging out before making their way down the aisle!

Her sister posed with the program.

And finally, Shannon and her father made their way down the aisle.

The church was beautiful!

A reader.

A laugh.

Um, if looks could kill... =)

The priest gave them all a shower.

And the new couple!

Shannon drinks and Gaga watches.

Poker face!

The wedding party wanted to stop for more alcohol and Shannon was all for it!

I kind of begged her to do this. Thanks for being silly. =)

A thumbs up for Old Style.

Nice rings! =)

The pink polish shot.

Natalie at Zuzu's Petals did an awesome job on the flowers!

Shannon did an amazing job at adding some cool touches to the reception site. Her family owns the venue in the suburbs so she had to use it for the big night!

This was the ceiling in the cocktail area. So cool!

A Tipsy Cake!

They had a cookie bar and asked their families for their favorite recipes!

Chelsea and Shannon were married on the same day. Shannon's sister and friend made sure that Shannon would never forget that fact. =)

Her father surprised her with some cocktail music! Check out the jeweled microphone!

The woman on the right must have spotted something that I missed!? =)

Shannon's father and mother thank everyone for coming.

Peter's father.

The bride and groom check out the slideshow that their family put together.

The first dance.

Some photo booth fun.

The mustache was a hit.

Some reception fun!

The rings!

Thanks for the fun!!!

Katie and Will

08.19.10

Katie and Will's wedding was something special. Will has been battling brain cancer for the past year and all of the wedding vendors involved wanted to make this the best wedding possible for both of them. Everything about their wedding was fantastic. The weather, the venue, the guests and the love the two of them have for each other. It was pretty incredible to be a part of it and I was honored that they chose me to photograph it!

I arrived to photograph Katie and she already had her dress ready for pictures.

Her shoes!

I love this shot of her getting ready. Don't worry. She gave me permission to post! =)

Her friend had the difficult task of making a perfect bow!

Katie's father takes a peek of his daughter in her gown.

A quick portrait before we headed to the church.

The ceremony started as soon as we arrived.

Will was all smiles!

The flower girl caught me in the act.

The beautiful church.

I think Will really did have a smile on his face all day! I love this shot of the two of them as they were announced a newly wed couple.

They did it.

The bubbles were blowing as they exited the church.

Popping the cork!

We arrived at the beautiful Botanic Gardens to start our quick photo session before the big party!

Their wedding party was great. Everyone was really excited for the photos!

I could shoot here all day!

We ditched the wedding party and headed around for more photos!

Katie looking beautiful.

One of their favorite spots at the Gardens

They met overseas. Katie is from Canada and Will was born and raised in the north suburbs of Chicago. We decided to play around with their respective flags.

You can't go wrong having cocktails in the walled garden. It's beautiful!

I love the gate at the entrance!

My second photographer caught the flower girl taking care of some business!

Is he giving me the finger? Oh SNAP!

Kehoe did an amazing job on the flowers and decor. I love that blue bench too!

Katie had a cute ceramic house that the guests could write their well wishes and place them inside.

I love the "Mad Lib" layout.

Another DIY by Katie!

Kehoe also had this great furniture on the patio for their reception.

The pretty and tasty cake.

Will raises his glass and the speeches begin.

Katie's maid of honor.

The tears were rolling.

Her father gave the greatest speech ever. Seriously. I believe the words "penis" and "breath" were actually involved. 'Nuff said.

The first dance.

Will's mother was loving it!

Some of the kids wanted to sing a song for the bride and groom.

And then it was a crazy dance party!

Thanks for letting me be a part of such a memorable night. All the best!

Renee and Keith

08.17.10

Renee and Keith contacted me after having photographed her brother Jared's wedding a few years ago. Brooke and Jared's wedding was a blast and I was looking forward to hanging out with everyone again. This wedding was definitely a blast too!

I showed up at the church and Renee was getting ready to head across the street to meet up with Keith.

Her "sexy" bracelet.

Time to meet Keith!

He was patiently waiting for his bride.

They met on the bleachers.

Keith helped Renee make her way over to the playground.

The wedding party showed up for a quick shot.

Back to the bleachers!

Brooke spotted a bug hanging out in her bouquet!

It was HOT out. Brooke got some help with that from a bridesmaid.

The traffic police.

The girls borrowed a sign from an Oak Park protestor.

The library was our next stop!
