I just returned from photographing a friends wedding in Northern California and was lucky enough to get to check out their venue. It was gorgeous!

They wanted to do their engagement session on Chicago's North Shore. We started near my studio in Evanston!

It was definitely hot out but they were both troopers! I am sure people love me when I tell them to let their eyes burn in the sun. =)

We spotted a deer!

After some scorching sun they decided to treat themselves to a popsicle!

Bernice played stylist for the day and managed to pull off some really cool outfits!

I love this one.

A final shot of Bernice before we headed to Wilmette. Love this photo of her!

The Bahai Temple is amazing!

Peter asked Bernice to marry him in this very spot.

We finished our shoot across the street at the boat docks.

I must go back here!

Can't wait to see you both in Sonoma. It's going to be amazing!

Joann and Greg http://jeremylawsonphotography.com/blog.cfm?postID=388 http://jeremylawsonphotography.com/blog.cfm?postID=388 Sat, 04 Sep 2010 02:20:00 GMT
They met freshman year at the University of Chicago so we started their shoot in Hyde Park and made our way to campus!

Hyde Park had some of the cool mosaic murals that are also featured on Chicago's north side.

Gotta represent!

And then we walked around campus together.

I love this campus so much. It's beautiful!

I love this shot of Joann.

The light was definitely on our side!

Give me a building covered with ivy and I am a happy camper!

Greg was much taller than Joann so we had to do this shot!

A quick outfit change and we headed downtown.

See you both next week for more photos!

Loved this piggy bank that was next to his crib.

I thought this was a cute idea for a babies room. A family balloon tree!

His mobile was sticking to the yellow and grey themed room!

Those eyes!

A little boxer.

We went outside for a few more!

I love his expressions in these next ones.

He was basically telling me to go home!

Ha!

Thanks for asking me over!

Can't wait for the next shoot! Does it get any better than hanging out with dogs all day?! =)

I love dogs. I really love dogs. I was so happy when Heather from One Tail At A Time asked me to shoot their calendar. We recently photographed four of the pups that will be featured in the calendar. These are my favorites from the shoot.

Layla the boxer!

Sara from Salvage One got in on the fun. Phinn will be one of the featured dogs!

That modeling stuff is no joke!

Hana and her tongue!

So cute!

Hana left in style.

Penny goes to Reckless.

A peanut in peanuts!

She is also learning how to crawl out of frame.

See you next month at your new place!

Melissa and Jesse http://jeremylawsonphotography.com/blog.cfm?postID=379 http://jeremylawsonphotography.com/blog.cfm?postID=379 Thu, 26 Aug 2010 22:34:00 GMT
I love this shot of her before she made her way down the aisle.

Jesse gets a hug from the best man and the big show starts!

The church was beautiful!

Someone partied hard the night before. =)

Making it official.

Puppy stop!

The cork was MIA.

We jump on the trolley and head to our first stop.

I photographed Amy and David's wedding where Jesse was a groomsmen. It was nice hanging out with familiar faces all day!

A parking garage will always get my attention!

Jesse.

Melissa.

And Melissa again! She was looking gorgeous!!

Some Michigan graffiti!

We stopped for a shake to cool off.

Back on the trolley with the wild wedding party.

Some trolley dancin'.

This guy got his dance on too!

He danced his way over to the wedding party. So glad he did!

The Birmingham gave Melissa and Jesse a big shout out!

We had to shoot around this car that wouldn't move. Lame.

Jesse pulls a "runaway groom".

A final shot of Melissa and we head to the reception.

We were all treated to a live musical performance.

We made it to the Bloomfield Hills Country Club and decided to do a few quick photos before heading in for some cocktails.

Love this one!

The girls make fun of the guys as they do the cheesy wedding pose.

A high five from the guys and the wedding party heads inside for the party.

A few more shots of the couple.

Cocktails!

Another wedding. Another middle finger.

A sweet introduction.

Some speeches.

I really love this shot of Melissa!

My favorite shot from their first dance.

Melissa and her father.

And the dancing begins!

Jesse's Girl got the audience going crazy. I loved it!

Jesse's father and sister.

Watch out!

Refill!

The party was so insane the chandelier broke!

They treated the guests to milk and cookies on the way out.

They kept the rings.

I had a blast in NYC shooting Melissa and Jesse's engagement session. Their wedding in Michigan was a blast too!

We started things off at the church on a very warm July day!

The ladies were ready to go when they arrived and just had some last minute touch ups to tend to!

Shannon and Peter http://jeremylawsonphotography.com/blog.cfm?postID=378 http://jeremylawsonphotography.com/blog.cfm?postID=378 Thu, 19 Aug 2010 00:20:00 GMT
I met Shannon at a wedding last fall. She is an awesome wedding planner in Chicago. We had so much fun at Heather and Andrew's wedding that she asked me to photograph her big day. So glad she did!

I met up with her at the Sofitel for some getting ready shots. You could see her dress hanging in the window outside of Peter's room!

When I got to her room she was reading a letter given to her by Peter.

The girls were getting ready for the waterworks!

She didn't need a tissue. She was all smiles!

Braxton got a few shots of the guys getting ready. This usually takes about 2 minutes. =)

Guys getting ready means that beer is right around the corner...

I really love this shot of her putting her veil on and getting attacked by hairspray!

She looked amazing.

Braxton got a few shots of Peter hanging out at the MCA before their first encounter of the day!

Here she comes!

We were lucky enough to walk around the galleries that were full of color!

Mean. Just mean!

The wedding party met up with us on the steps of the museum.

I stole a shot while Ben Mahoney was doing his thang!

Loving the socks!

We were off to the bridge. I am sure you can guess which one! =)

This bridge is so great for big wedding parties.

Peter's brother directed the guys to dance for the camera.

Shannon looking fabulous.

And more fabulous.

Peter was watching his bride and getting his pose on at the same time!

One last pose and it was time for the ceremony.

The girls tried to hide the bride as we made our way into the church.

Hanging out before making their way down the aisle!

Her sister posed with the program.

And finally, Shannon and her father made their way down the aisle.

The church was beautiful!

A reader.

A laugh.

Um, if looks could kill... =)

The priest gave them all a shower.

And the new couple!

Shannon drinks and Gaga watches.

Poker face!

The wedding party wanted to stop for more alcohol and Shannon was all for it!

I kind of begged her to do this. Thanks for being silly. =)

A thumbs up for Old Style.

Nice rings! =)

The pink polish shot.

Natalie at Zuzu's Petals did an awesome job on the flowers!

Shannon did an amazing job at adding some cool touches to the reception site. Her family owns the venue in the suburbs so she had to use it for the big night!

This was the ceiling in the cocktail area. So cool!

A Tipsy Cake!

They had a cookie bar and asked their families for their favorite recipes!

Chelsea and Shannon were married on the same day. Shannon's sister and friend made sure that Shannon would never forget that fact. =)

Her father surprised her with some cocktail music! Check out the jeweled microphone!

The woman on the right must have spotted something that I missed!? =)

Shannon's father and mother thank everyone for coming.

Peter's father.

The bride and groom check out the slideshow that their family put together.

The first dance.

Some photo booth fun.

The mustache was a hit.

Some reception fun!

The rings!

Jennifer and Adam http://jeremylawsonphotography.com/blog.cfm?postID=377 http://jeremylawsonphotography.com/blog.cfm?postID=377 Thu, 19 Aug 2010 00:15:00 GMT Salvage One. We recently shot their engagement session and brought along their puggle for a few shots!

He was definitely entertaining himself.

Gotta love a puggle face! Yes, I am a little puggle crazy.

And he was over it...

The light on the northwest side was working to our advantage!

After a few shots around their 'hood we headed to Wrigley. They also met here!

United!

The green.

Our last stop was Belmont harbor at dusk. I really love what we got here.

The pink sunset was great.

I am really loving this one!

Can't wait to see you in 2011!
