Emily and Jim were married earlier this summer, and they asked Braxton to photograph the day’s events for them. And what a day it was, too! The couple had a fantastic downtown bash all lined up, and Braxton arrived at their hotel pumped for the day. First, Braxton hung out while Emily and Jim made their preparations.

It looks like Emily was having a hard time with the hair stylist…

…but the end result was worth it!

Jim was waiting outside the Palmer House for his first look at the bride. He was excited and a little nervous, but all that cleared up when he caught sight of Emily. After checking each other out for a minute, the couple and their wedding party hit the streets for a round of pre-ceremony portraits. They had the itinerary all planned out… Art Institute, Millennium Park and then back to their venue. The following are a few of my favorites from this part of the day:

One last portrait of the bride and groom…

…and then it was time for the ceremony! The guests took their seats, and soon after, the wedding party made their entrance.

Emily was the last to walk the aisle, of course. She took her place next to Jim and the proceedings began.

With vows and rings exchanged, they were pronounced husband and wife. Congratulations!

The guests moved inside for the reception, which began with cocktail hour and a fantastic meal. While dinner was being finished, Emily and Jim’s friends and loved ones took to the microphone to toast the newlyweds.

After speeches, Emily and Jim made their way to the dance floor and shared their first dance as husband and wife.

But they weren’t the only ones ready to dance! Check out the moves these partygoers had to show off:

Congratulations on your marriage, Emily and Jim! And excellent work, Braxton!
