Meet Evan and Zoe! This good-looking and fun couple will be getting married this August, and I’ll be with them for the big day. As with all my wedding clients, I was looking forward to getting to know them better at their engagement session, which began in the West Loop. These two were naturals in front of the camera; very open to direction and not nervous in the slightest. The portraits began in this alley, which features some of my favorite street art.

Nearby are the Metra tracks- probably my favorite spot for photos in the entire city. We had a great time enjoying the beautiful weather and hanging out in the (relative) seclusion of this location.

And since we were in the west loop neighborhood anyway, I took them to a few more of my favorite spots- including the birds on a wire mural and the courtyard at Salvage One.

Time for a drink! We bellied up to the bar at Vinyl and ordered a round of refreshment. I’d never been Vinyl before, and while I enjoying my time there, I thought we could travel to a different type of bar and mix things up a bit.

Richard’s Bar is quickly becoming one of Chicago’s favorite hangouts- a dive bar’s dive bar. Evan and Zoe had a quick browse through the juke box then visited the bartender. We kicked back and enjoyed this final round of drinks under the watchful eyes of Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci and Ray Liotta. It was truly a special and classy moment.

I’ll see you in a few weeks for your wedding, Evan and Zoe! I can’t wait!
