Gretchen and Joe’s wedding day had finally arrived, and Braxton was on hand to document the day with them. This couple had a big celebration planned, beginning with a traditional Catholic ceremony and a blowout celebration at Chicago’s Aon Center. First, though, Gretchen and her bridesmaids gathered together as they prepared for the day.

At the church, Gretchen and her father waited in the wings for their turn to walk the aisle. Soon enough, the bride made her big entrance and the ceremony began.

With rings, vows and a first kiss exchanged, Gretchen and Joe were declared married. Congratulations! Immediately following the ceremony, Braxton headed out with the wedding party to take some photos around town. They were to visit several great Chicago backdrops during this time, including North Avenue Beach and Millennium Park. The following are a few of my favorites from this pre-reception shoot.

Here are the newlyweds, making their big entrance into the reception. They were met by the cheers and applause of their family and friends as they made their way to the dance floor…

…to share their first dance as husband and wife. It was a great way to begin the party, which included all traditional favorites: cake tasting, toasts, and a father-daughter dance. You can check out the celebration for yourself in these photos:

The DJ cranked up the music and everyone hit the dance floor. Guests were excited to show off their best moves, especially Gretchen and her father. They set the tone for the rest of the partygoers, who all followed suit and started to boogie.

What a party!! Congratulations on your marriage, Gretchen and Joe, and excellent work as always, Braxton!
