The big night had finally arrived! You may have seen some of my blog postings that featured the canine models featured in the One Tail at a Time 2013 calendar. The Houndstooth Ball is the annual event that celebrates the fundraiser calendar, contributors to the One Tail organization and, of course, all the lucky dogs who found their forever homes. This year the event was being held at Architectural Artifacts, which was the perfect space for the ball. I was serving as photographer, and my duties began on the red carpet, where I photographed partygoers with their human companions. Some party animals were so excited, they could hardly stand still for a photo op.
Some took full advantage and cheesed it up for the camera!
Here’s Heather, one of One Tail’s founders, posing with an adorable pup.
Heather handed the pup over to Jarrod, who just about adopted her on the spot.
One by one, each guest made their grand entrance. This chihuahua wore her very best to the event!
The guests were having a blast as they enjoyed treats and mingled on the dance floor.
This pup was working HARD for her treats!
It was a fantastic night and everyone was sad to see it end.
Not to fear! The Houndstooth Ball will return next year, bigger and better than ever! A big thank-you goes out to all the supporters of the evening, including: Architectural Artifacts, Toast & Jam, 312 Photobooth, Chicago Pet Sitters, Tails Magazine, iPet Chicago and everyone who donated their time, services and/or items for the auction.
