Jenny and Tim were married in the backyard of her family home, where their closest family and friends had gathered to witness the start of their marriage. I was happy to be included in that group, documenting all the fun and joy of the day. Things got started in Jenny’s childhood bedroom, where her makeup and hair were styled while she was surrounded by friends. There were plenty of laughs and smiles in the room while she made her preparations!
The weather wasn’t cooperating fully, sprinkling the backyard with intermittent rain throughout the morning. Here, Jenny’s dad peeks out the window to see what Mother Nature was up to.
The rain continued as the ceremony began, but the whole crew embraced it! As you can see, no spirits were dampened by the rain!
Tim’s mom, who officiated the wedding, watched alongside the groom as Jenny walked the aisle with her dad. After a few opening words, Tim and Jenny joined hands and the ceremony began.
Tim and Jenny’s families watched intently as the couple made their vows. It was such a beautiful ceremony, filled with meaning, laughter and love, as you can tell from this collection of images.
And then the two were officially married! As the newlyweds made their way back down the aisle, the clouds seemed to open a bit and flood the yard with light.
Inside the house, Jenny and Tim greeted guests as they gathered to share in brunch.
Jenny and Tim’s pup was on hand, too, to share in the celebration.
Jenny and Tim’s pup had a friend to play with as the couple had gotten Jenny’s mom a pup, seen here receiving lots of lovins’, earlier in the year.
What a cutie. I almost forgot that I had a party to photograph!
The rained stopped for a moment, so I grabbed Tim and Jenny and we hopped outside for a few portraits.
When it began to pour again, we headed down the road to Urhausen Greenhouses. This is one of my favorite places to go garden shopping, and we were so grateful that they allowed us to take pictures inside their greenhouse.
She bought a plant before we left.
Next stop was Lighthouse Beach in Evanston. It was a little muddy there…
…but luckily, Jenny had a plan!
Watch your step, Tim! It’s slick!
Later that day, I met up with the newlyweds again in the West Loop for their reception. We arrived a few minutes early so we could spend time taking pictures around the neighborhood in advance of the party.
After a tour around the block taking pictures, Jenny and Tim made their entrance into the reception, met with cheers and applause from their guests.
They wasted no time cutting into their cake!
The newlyweds shared their first dance as husband and wife…
…and then their guests joined them on the floor, ready to party!
What a fantastic, fun day! Thank you for including me, Jenny and Tim. Congratulations on your marriage!
