Kate and Paul’s wedding day was finally here.
Kate was just finishing up getting ready when I arrived at the condo her and Paul share. Fuga Salon had done a terrific job with her hair and makeup.
Her family and friends were beaming as they watched Kate finish up.
Her mother helped her with the last few buttons…
…and the looks on the faces of the bridesmaids let Kate know she was ready.
Kate rounded up her bridesmaids and the headed out to the church as a group.
Paul, meanwhile, was finishing up a jam session with his groomsmen.
Both he and Kate are pros at the video game Rock Band. ‘White Wedding’ was a fitting tune for the day!
One more song before getting ready…
This groomsman treated himself for being the first one dressed.
When the other guys were finished getting into their monkey suits they all left for the church.
Kate was such a calm bride as she waited patiently for the ceremony to begin. I was in love with her bouquet, which she and her mother designed themselves. In fact, the two of them did all the floral design for the day.
The big moment was here! Kate took her place next to Paul at the altar.
The ceremony was held in the gorgeous St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Kate and Paul, flanked by their maid of honor and best man, were all ears as the priest began the ceremony.
The guests participated in the sacrament of Holy Communion as part of the wedding service.
Next up were the vows…
…and the exchange of the rings.
And that was that!
Congratulations!
After exiting the church, Kate and Paul spent a few moments alone together before going outside to the limo.
The wedding party had the champagne bottle popped and flowing when Kate & Paul climbed in.
We began to make our way to Salvage One for the reception, stopping for some photo ops along the way.
Paul struck his best Captain Morgan pose for this shot of the groomsmen.
I was loving the light we were getting for the outdoor photos.
He picked this especially for her.
I was loving the light, but Paul needed a second to adjust to it.
He chose instead to make Kate smile…
…while we did some shots of her by herself.
Paul joined us for the next set, though.
What a good sport.
We were having a great time taking pictures, but it was time for the reception!
The group went back to Salvage One, where we shot a few pictures in the courtyard before going inside for the party.
There are so many cool things at Salvage One to check out. Kate and Paul were both distracted by this Spiderman pinball machine.
And then Kate took some time to beat up on Paul at the air hockey table.
I just had to sit them down for a second…
…and take a picture of their converse wedding shoes.
I had hogged them enough. They joined their guests, who had just begun to arrive for cocktail hour.
This little guy was having a great time at his first wedding. He couldn’t believe it!
String Theory played while the guests enjoyed cocktails and each other’s company.
When cocktail hour was finished, everyone moved upstairs for dinner.
And I set out to take some detail shots. These are the RSVP cards that were sent out with the invitations.
Kate and Paul encouraged guests to draw a picture before sending them back. They had them proudly on display for the other guests to check out.
Since it was Halloween weekend, masks were provided for guest to wear.
And flip camcorders were on hand so guests could record their wedding experience.
An Event Less Ordinary helped set up the decor, including the table settings which were ready for a delicious meal prepared by C Catering Boutique.
I couldn’t help but take more pictures of the florals that Kate and her mother designed.
The rings, posed alongside Paul’s special wedding converse sneaker. This is actually how he proposed to Kate. Those shoes will be in the family for a long time!
While the guests finished up with their dinner, Paul’s dad took the mic to thank everyone for sharing the day with his family.
Kate’s cousin and maid of honor was up next with her toast for the couple.
Kate’s aunt watched as her daughter wrapped up her speech.
Then the best man delivered a heart-felt speech that gave everyone a laugh.
Finally, Paul and Kate addressed the crowd, thanking them all for their love and support.
With speeches completed, the newlyweds took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife.
Then everyone joined in for the dance party!
Duke from Style Matters was there to spin the dancing tracks.
Not air quotes! Not on the dance floor!
This guest saw me go crazy when Duke started playing Lady Gaga, so she showed me her dance moves for the song “Monster”.
Paul needed some attention, so he photobombed this picture of Kate and her mom.
Kate’s aunt was showing everybody a thing or two on the dance floor.
Sitting on top of a cake baked by Rolf’s Patisserie was the cake topper version of Kate and Paul’s Wii avatars. Very cool!
Thanks for sharing your big day with me, Kate and Paul! Congratulations on your marriage!
