Kelly and Reid are getting married next year in California, but didn’t want to leave Chicago out of the celebration. They asked me to lend a hand and photograph their windy city engagement session.

We started out at the Lily Pond in Lincoln Park, where the fall colors were at their peak.

One trip around the pond later, we were ready to head downtown.

I took Kelly and Reid to some of my favorite Chicago photo spots, including these tagged-up walls.

Then it was time to change outfits and locations as we headed out to the west side.

A great skyline shot.

And then we spent some time in the sun.

Kelly is a natural in front of the camera! She’s going to be amazing on her wedding day.

Whew! We were working hard!

Time for a break at Black Dog Gelato.

After our treat, we took a stroll through the neighborhood.

The shit fountain rears it’s ugly head!

We didn’t let that nasty sculpture ruin our appetite, though, and grabbed another snack- an official Chicago-style hot dog. No tour of the city is complete without it!

Our bellies were full and happy as we took some pictures by the river.

And we wrapped things up on their penthouse balcony, with the best skyline view yet.

Congratulations on your engagement, Kelly and Reid! I had a great time traveling the city with you, and will be thinking of you on your wedding day next year!
