I saw this posted as I showed up at the salon to begin my day shooting Kim and Jon’s wedding. Words to live by. Assuming that you’re not beautifully, naturally bald like yours truly.

I got there right when finishing touches were being done on Kim’s hair…

and makeup.

Dang. Hate it when that happens! But it wasn’t about to stop Kim and her crew from…

…having mimosas!

As Jon was suiting up…

…Kim was jumping into her dress.

I photographed some detail shots while she was finishing.

Killer shoes!

KIm’s curl. =)

Kim’s sister and mother giving their approval.

Kim spots the neighbors Boston Terrier on the way to meet Jon

Jon waits outside of their place to get his first glimpse of Kim in her dress.

You picked the wrong guy to be camera shy around! =)

A carnival was going on right across the street from their place!

Those carnies are brutal. Yes, we will play your game!

No way we were passing this up.

The friendly crowd wished our couple well. (Look! Kim won a frog!)

Mmmmmm…cotton candy.

Brave man. Going solo.

Everyone is considering…

…a ride on the ferris wheel!

After the street fair we headed down to Michigan Avenue.

We found this spot, and Kim gave it her ‘thumbs up’ to start taking some group pictures.

I love these trees!

We kept moving through Millennium Park.

A quick AC break!

It was a hot one but the wedding party braved through it.

Some beautiful light in this one…

One more shot before…

…moving on the ceremony!

Kim and Jon held their ceremony and reception at one of my favorite venues, Salvage One. Here’s a vintage chalkboard they used to list the wedding details. Cute idea!

Kim ventured off to get in position for the ceremony.

Her parents walked her down the aisle.

Jon’s parents.

Jon waiting for his bride.

Her parents gave her away…

…then the officiant began the ceremony. I love when Marguerite performs the ceremony for my clients. She is so great!

Kim’s mother.

One of the groomsmen had to miss the ceremony because he was stationed overseas. He was there in spirit in the form of a cardboard cutout!

Kim delivering her vows.

What an awesome idea for the bridesmaids.

Her brother.

Pouring wine to symbolize their unity as a married couple.

I love this.

Presenting Mr. and Mrs. Campbell!

Heartfelt congratulations from her brother.

Reception time!

This guy was ready and waiting to serve!

The guests all enjoyed cocktail hour outside.

Salvage One has an incredible outdoor area for receptions. I love shooting there!

Showin’ some love.

Uh-oh. The grooms father proved some heavy competition.

Love this cake shot!

Card monster! Too funny.

Kim went DIY all the way!

A lot of people just leave it up to Salvage One to provide the decor!

The best man delivered his toast.

Then the maid of honor took her turn.

Right back atcha, babe.

The couple has their first dance.

Then Kim has a dance with her dad.

Now everybody!

Clap those hands! The party was getting started!

Gotcha.

Raise the roof!

Yes. Yes she does.

“Uh… who’s this guy?” Those fake mustaches are effective!

…and proud of it!

The props were a big hit with the guests!

Cheers to Kim and Jon! Thanks for including me in on your day!
