It was finally time for LaShawnta and Pascal to tie the knot! This wonderful couple had been together for years, and the time had arrived for them to walk the aisle and become husband and wife. I was honored to be with them, too, and share in their big day.
I travelled to the picturesque suburb of Geneva, arriving at The Herrington Inn – where the ceremony and reception were held – just as LaShawnta was having her makeup done. She already looked fantastic, absolutely glowing as she made her preparations.
LaShawnta was surrounded by her family and friends, all of whom were helping out. When the time arrived, the bridesmaids helped her into the gown, and the bride posed for a quick round of portraits before heading out to meet her groom.

I think LaShawnta’s niece may be a pro photographer herself someday. Look at her stretching to get the shot!

LaShawnta looked amazing. I couldn’t wait to get started on portraits, but first things first…her bouquet was needed for the final touch.

After portraits, we left the Inn to meet up with Pascal for the first look.

Things were happening right on schedule, as Pascal and his groomsmen were already on the bus headed toward the first look destination when we left the hotel. The groom and his attendants were in a great mood, and had time to have some fun with the camera while waiting for the bride to arrive.

There’s a huge park near downtown Geneva that boasts this grand old bridge. Situated just over the river, it makes for a scenic backdrop for photos- especially ones taken during a couple’s first look. Pascal and LaShawnta situated themselves on opposite sides of the bridge, and the bride began the long walk towards the groom. It’s a long bridge, too, and I watched was the smile on Pascal’s face grew bigger with every step LaShawnta took toward him.

I think the bridesmaids were just as excited as the bride!

After spending a few moments taking a good look at each other (and sharing a few kisses), we set to work taking pre-ceremony portraits. First up, of course, was the lovely bride. There were so many perfect spots for pictures on the bridge and throughout the park– I could have spent hours taking photos of this group! Enjoy this collection of images from our walk through the park:

Back on the bus! Family was waiting back at the Inn to take group portraits. The group took some fun pictures with the bus before we all boarded and headed back to the Inn.

LaShawnta was attended to for a few moments before we set up the family portraits. There was so much love and attention for this bride!

Finally, the big moment had arrived. Guests made their way, finding seats in the Herrington’s beautiful courtyard. Pascal entered with his mother, and after giving her a hug, took his place at the front of the crowd. His gaze didn’t waver from the door LaShawnta was about to enter through and he lit up when she made her big entrance.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. He’s a Pastor, so after bringing his daughter to her groom, he took a place of honor and presided over the ceremony. And it was a beautiful ceremony, at that, with readings delivered by both mothers and heartfelt vows exchanged by the couple. See for yourself in these images from Pascal and LaShawnta’s wedding ceremony:

LaShawnta’s mother, giving her reading.

Pascal’s mother read aloud the names of loved ones who had passed, which included Pascal’s father. He looked to the heavens as his father’s name was read aloud in remembrance of his dad.

After vows and rings were exchange, LaShawnta and Pascal began their marriage with a kiss.

Congratulations!!! Now it’s time to celebrate!

Here, the newlyweds make their big entrance into the reception. They were met by the cheers and applause of all their guests before taking a seat and digging in to a delicious meal prepared by the staff at the Herrington.

As the meal was being finished, friends and family took to the microphone to offer toasts in honor of LaShawnta and Pascal. There were laughs and happy tears as memories were shared and wisdom delivered.

Speeches wrapped up with the newlyweds, who thanked their loved ones for sharing the day with them.

And then everyone hit the dance floor to get the party started! Style Matters was on hand to keep the hits coming, and the guests weren’t shy about showing off their best moves to the soundtrack provided. Have fun with these pictures from Pascal and LaShawnta’s dance party:

Look at that high kick! Nice work, Pascal!

The smiles and laughs kept coming all night…. I think it’s safe to say that the party was a complete success.

Congratulations on your marriage, LaShawnta and Pascal, and many thanks for sharing the day with me!
