Lindsay and Mike are getting married in just under a year, next November. I’ll be there with them, photographing their big day, but first we had an engagement session to shoot. We started things off in the gym where Mike works as a personal trainer. I haven’t been able to do a move like that since I was in middle school!

And I couldn’t even dream of completing a routine on the rings.

Mike had no problem, though!

Whew! I was getting exhausted just watching Mike and Lindsay play. We moved outside to cool off and get some fresh air.

It was a gorgeous day outside, and we decided to head over to one of my favorite west side backdrops.

Lindsay and Mike will be getting married at the Newberry Library next year. I love photographing there, and I can’t wait to see the pictures we take that day.

For now, though, I was having a great time with Lindsay and Mike, getting to know them better as we travelled to our different locations.

I think we did our urban spots up right…

…time to move on to some more nature-oriented locations. A walk by the lake with the Chicago skyline in the back was a great place to start.

Lindsay, Mike and I walked up a hill and through the park…

…and eventually wound up at the lily pond in Lincoln Park.

Can I tell you how much I already miss the fall colors? I was glad that I was able to photograph Lindsay and Mike while the trees were still clinging on to their last leaves.

Lindsay and Mike were naturals and our time was flying by fast. But there was one member of the family we were forgetting…

…their puppy! Their dog was waiting and excited for us to drop by for photos.

We got the leash out and went for a walk.

Look at that puppy pose! What a good dog!

I had a great time on our engagement shoot, Lindsay and Mike! I have a feeling this year is going to fly by and it will be time for your wedding before we know it.

Congratulations on your marriage, and I’ll see you as we get closer to your big day!
