It was another beautiful afternoon for an engagement session, and James and Sara’s began at the Lincoln Park Conservatory.

Sara and James will be getting married in August, and I’ll be serving as their photographer for the day.

It was great to catch up with the two of them and hear how the wedding plans were coming along as we walked through the park.

Eventually, we headed through the tunnel…

…and took a skyline shot by the lakeshore.

James was a perfect gentleman as he gave his fiancee a lift through the tall grass.

The hike was worth it, as we found some lovely new spots to take a few portraits.

The little pockets of the city that make you forget you’re even in Chicago are my favorites…

…but then again, I’ve got a lot of love for my urban spots, too.

This rail yard on the city’s west side always offers up a new backdrop or, in this case, wall for my couples to pose with.

Sara, James and I started to head back into the loop, breezing by an El stop for a quick picture…

…and then they ducked into the alleys for some smoochin’.

Things were just wrapping up when James had an idea…

…why not get some friends in on the action?

I had to include this GIF of our couple that was taken at Montrose Harbor. I bet they do a twirl or two like this at their wedding.

I had a great time working with you, Sara and James, and can’t wait for your wedding this August. I’ll see you there!
