The time had finally arrived for Sarah and Carey to say “I do”! Sarah could barely contain her excitement as she made her preparations.
Some of her best friends and family were with her, helping out as needed, and everyone was just as excited as Sarah. It was going to be a great day!
Sarah looked gorgeous… she was so ready for her wedding!
At the same time, Carey was getting ready in his hotel room. His son was there with him, giving Carey a hand with those tricky buttons.
When they were ready, the guys grabbed their things and headed out for the couple’s first look.
Sarah and Carey chose to have their first look in the middle of Michigan Avenue. I was so game for this… it was a lot of fun!
They took a few minutes to check each other out in their wedding day clothes…
…and then we headed further downtown for some pre-ceremony portraits. What better way to begin a wedding celebration than by sharing some hugs?
Our first stop was Pops for Champagne where Sarah and Carey shared their first kiss…. and of course we took the time for a quick glass of champagne!
We headed down the road a bit for some portraits on the bridge in front of the Chicago skyline. Sarah and Carey were laughing non-stop and having the time of their lives!
Then it was down to the Board of Trade, where after a few posed shots, Sarah and Carey practiced their first dance in the middle of the street. I loved it!
The ceremony was held at City Winery. Guests gathered around the fireplace as Carey took his place, and then all eyes were on Sarah as she made her entrance.
Sarah and Carey joined hands and their friend, who officiated the ceremony, began the proceedings. It was a beautiful ceremony, too, with lots of love, emotion and even a few laughs.
Another friend of the couple performed a song during the ceremony… a wonderful addition to the service.
With vows, rings and a kiss exchanged, Sarah and Carey were officially husband and wife! The guests cheered and applauded as the newlyweds made their exit…
…and headed upstairs for a few moments alone together.
They weren’t gone for long, though, as a short while later they made their grand entrance into the ceremony for their first dance.
Sarah and Carey took their seats and listened as their friends and family made loving toasts in their honor.
Then it was time for dancing! Carey’s son was especially ready to let loose on the dance floor. Check out some of my favorite party pics below:
This is Kate and Steve– I photographed their wedding a few years back! It’s always great to have a chance to catch up with my couples.
That’s a wrap! Congratulations on your marriage, Carey and Sarah. Thank you for including me in the fun!
