Shannon and Bill’s wedding day had finally arrived! They had a day full of fun with their family and friends planned, and it all started in Shannon’s bridal suite as she and her bridesmaids had their hair and makeup styled. The whole group was enjoying mimosas, laughs and spending time together… I was having a great time, too, as I photographed their preparations.

Shannon’s mom was on hand to help the bride with the dress. She helped Shannon climb in to the gorgeous gown and made sure every detail was perfect.

When Shannon was ready for the day, we met up with Bill in front of the old Water Tower, which was just outside of the hotel Shannon stayed at. She couldn’t have looked more gorgeous, and it was reflected in Bill’s eyes as he had his first look at the bride. The two spent a few moments admiring each other and then we were off to take portraits around town.

As we passed by the hotel, Shannon’s dad covered his eyes. He was outside waiting for us and wanted his first look to be a surprise, too.

Our first stop for portraits was this spot just a block away from the Board of Trade. Bill helped Shannon with her dress as we set up the shot in the middle of the street.

Just down the block was the LaSalle St. Bridge… Shannon and Bill didn’t hesitate when it came time to climb up on the rafters. Their daring paid off with some beautiful images!

I really wanted to introduce Bill and Shannon to one of my new favorite murals!

The Erie Cafe is a favorite hangout spot for Shannon and Bill. They come here often and even used the cafe as a venue for their engagement party! Once inside, they shared a round of drinks and took a celebratory selfie.

Shannon made a few touch-ups to her makeup…

…and then we met the wedding party on the steps of the MCA. Just a few steps away from the hotel, it was the perfect spot for meeting up with the group.

As we walked back to the hotel, we made a special stop…

…the area firehouse let us take a few pictures with their trucks!

When we got back to the hotel, we still had a little while before the ceremony. Shannon, Bill and I decided to make the best of the time by going down to the hotel’s wine cellar for a round of pictures.

A few minutes later, the bridal party was walking down the aisle. When everyone was in place, Shannon joined them, escorted by her father. It was a beautiful, meaningful ceremony, as you’ll see in this collection of images:

Shannon’s mom couldn’t keep the smile off of her face.

And Bill’s mom watched proudly from the front row.

With rings, vows and a kiss exchanged, Bill and Shannon were married! Congratulations!

Following cocktail hour and dinner, Shannon’s father took to the microphone to thank guests for sharing the day with him and his family.

Bill’s brother, who served as Best Man, was up next with his loving tribute to the newlyweds.

Bill’s niece and nephew wanted to show their uncle and aunt some love too, and gave a little speech.

Then, Bill and Shannon stepped onto the floor to share their first dance as husband and wife. All eyes were on the newlyweds as they shared this special moment.

Shannon and her dad shared a father/daughter dance…

…and then everyone hit the floor!

These guests were ready to party, as you’ll see in these images from the celebration!:

What a party! Thanks for inviting me to share in it, Shannon and Bill… and congratulations on your marriage!
