I was in California, one of my favorite places in the world, to photograph Suze and HaiSon’s wedding. They held their ceremony and reception in Pebble Beach at The Inn at Spanish Bay and I was so excited to be shooting in this beautiful setting.

The day got started in Suze’s bridal suite as she made her preparations with some help from her mom, her sister and her two bridesmaids.

Suze looked absolutely gorgeous, and she was beaming with excitement as the time for her first look with HaiSon drew near. Once her dress was on and every detail was in place, we were out the door and headed toward their designated first look area.
Suze and HaiSon had their first look in this scenic spot, just steps away from the ocean. Suze carefully made her way up to her groom and tapped him on his shoulder. The biggest smile spread across his face when he saw his bride!
The two took a few minutes to admire each other and then we set off to take pre-ceremony photos. All of the pictures were taken on the grounds of the resort, which gave us tons of picturesque backdrops to use. It felt like I had to have the couple stop every few feet so that I could take another picture!
We were walking along a path when we noticed a group of deer that were feeding nearby. The group was so docile and used to humans that we were able to get very close to them.
We could have spent all day taking photos around the resort, but we needed to get back for the ceremony! The ceremony spot looked lovely and a few moments after we arrived, Suze was making her way down the aisle, escorted by her parents. The proceedings, which were presided over by a friend of the couple’s, were full of love and meaning. It was a beautiful ceremony at that, as you’ll see in the following collection of images:
With vows, rings and a kiss exchanged, Suze and HaiSon were married! Congratulations!
The newlyweds made their way down the boardwalk and waited to greet their guests. HaiSon was so proud of his new wedding ring and was ready to show it off!
The bridal party was the first to join the couple, and as they were gathering, we heard something in the distance…
…a bagpiper! The resort has him perform every day right at sunset. Suze and HaiSon, as well as many of their guests, graduated from Carnegie Mellon University, which has a strong Scottish heritage. The sound of the bagpipes brought back many happy memories, so we were made sure to get a few photos in with the piper!
I think HaiSon was the most excited about the bagpiper!
The guests went inside the resort, where everything was in place for the reception. Following a delicious meal, Suze’s Maid of Honor kicked off toasts with her speech in honor of the newlyweds.
HaiSon’s best man took the mic next…
…and then the newlyweds thanked everyone for sharing in the special day with them.
The bride and groom were the first to grace the dance floor as they shared their first dance as husband and wife.
And then the parents of the couple joined them on the floor for parent dances.
Suze’s sister gave a special performance in honor of the couple. She did an amazing job– such a talented family!
Finally, the dance floor was opened up to all the guests, and boy, was this crew ever ready to dance! Everyone there was having the time of their lives… see for yourself in this collection from Suze and HaiSon’s dance party!:
The party took a break as Suze threw her bouquet. The assembled ladies were all ready to grab it!
What a party! Thank you for including me in the celebration, Suze and HaiSon. Congratulations on your marriage!
