I was excited to be a part of “Under a New Moon” earlier this month along with fellow wedding vendors.

“Under a New Moon” was an event held at Catalyst Ranch which always has lots of cool stuff around to shoot. These guys were ready for the ceremony to begin.

The event celebrated the first moment in which same sex couples could form a legal union.

At the stroke of midnight six couples took the plunge at the same ceremony.

Many vendors pitched in for the event, like Nika Vaughan who served as make-up artist for the couples.

Each couple took a turn delivering their vows.

There were a lot of friends and family around to witness.

The couples were all so excited to finally tie the knot.

It was an emotional and happy night.

Anita Vaughan was the official celebrant who presided over the ceremony.

Here are all the couples.

The couples congratulated each other before heading into the party.

ABC 7 and 190 North was there to document the event. Look for the full episode later this month!

There were appetizers provided by Entertaining Company.

Bleeding Heart Bakery designed a huge, pride-themed Chicago cake.

Pigs were finally flying.

Here’s one of the bouquets which were designed by Pollen.

Mary and Dustin from Toast & Jam got the dancing started.

The couples all share a first dance.

A guest, having a lot of fun with one of the many props Catalyst Ranch decorates their space with.

Even though it was well after midnight, guests partied down.

Here’s Beth Bernstein, who played a key role in planning the event, cutting loose.

It was an honor to celebrate with the couples who got hitched. It was an evening I won’t forget anytime soon!
