Braxton was in Evanston a few weeks ago fro Sara and Dan’s wedding. The ceremony was held at the beautiful Alice Millar Chapel on the Northwestern Campus and Braxton had a lineup of great locations for them to shoot at before and after. The day began with Sara as she was getting ready, surrounded by her bridesmaids and family.
Meanwhile, Dan was getting ready, too, while hanging out with his groomsmen. They were reminiscing about old times, playing cards and making sure that no detail was forgotten (especially the rings).
Soon after, Dan was in place at the designated spot for his first meeting with Sara. After spending a few wonderful moments admiring each other, the whole crew set out for a round of pre-ceremony portraits along the lakeshore. It was a gorgeous day for a wedding, and Braxton made the most of it!
This is one of my favorite North Shore spots: the Baha’i Temple in Wimette. Everything about this house of worship and its grounds is beautiful and an excellent spot for taking wedding pictures. After a quick stroll around the grounds, it was time for the ceremony.
The Alice Millar Chapel is huge and stunning- an amazing sanctuary for a dream wedding to be held. Sara and Dan’s dream ceremony began with Sara’s father escorting her down the aisle. She and Dan joined hands at the altar and the service began. What follows are some of my favorite pictures from the marriage ceremony:
The newlyweds were beaming from ear to ear as they walked back down the aisle. The good times were just getting started, too, as everyone gathered on the chapel lawn for a champagne toast!
The guests and wedding party raised a toast to Sara and Dan, then piled into cars to transport to the reception venue.
After dinner, Sara’s father picked up the microphone to begin the toasts. Sara and Dan listened intently as their friends and family offered up their words of love and support.
With speeches completed, it was time for cake! After sharing the first bite of cake, Sara and Dan took to the dance for their first dance as husband and wife.
Then everyone joined the newlyweds on the boards, eager to show off their best moves. Braxton was in the middle of it all, snapping away. Here’s a collection of some of my favorite pictures from the dance floor:
